Johanna Panagiotou alias Victoria Mali war 29 Jahre alt, als sie mit einem ausgezeichneten Master in Kommunikationswissenschaft & Psychologie 2010 das Licht der männerdominierten Verlagswelt erblickte. Für Sofias Enkelin, die selber in den 1960er Jahren als Gastarbeiterin, ohne Bildung und Kinder alleine nach Deutschland kam, schien dies aber kein unüberwindbares Hindernis zu sein. Und sie hat es geschafft − mit links. Die Münchnerin promoviert am Amerika-Institut der LMU über politische Frauen im Kalten Krieg, führt eine Agentur für internationale Krebspatient_ innen, leitet erfolgreich transkulturelle Kulturprojekte, verlegt das deutsch-englische Magazin für Geschichte & Menschenrechte ETHNO News und ist Mutter zweier Kinder.  

Dr. Thanasis Bagatzounis verließ Anfang der 1980er Jahre seinen Geburtsort Kozani, um eine internationale Fußballkarriere im Ausland aufzubauen; schließlich wurde aus ihm ein promovierter Arzt für strahlentherapeutische Onkologie (Uni Erlangen / Uni Würzburg). Er befasst sich seit 30 Jahren intensiv mit gesundheitspolitischen−und medizinethischen Themen. Momentan schreibt er ein Buch über seine Erlebnisse als Krebsarzt in Deutschland und Zypern. Um das Gleichgewicht zu bewahren, spielt er Gitarre und beschäftigt sich mit Kunst und Kultur. Seine ehemalige Galerie für politische Kunst in Hamburg erlangte ein durchweg positives Presseecho. Er lebt und arbeitet in München.

Education & Additional Studies  

Victoria Mali, born in 1981 in Munich, has been a typical child of foreign workers in Germany. Fact that means, she should work hard and prove herself constantly, in order to have equal opportunities.

 

She graduated from the German-Greek High School in Munich (1999) with Honors, and studied Journalism & Media Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, including Erasmus Studies on the field of Political & Corporate Communication at the European School of Hague (2003).

 

Subsequently, she attended a Broadcast Training Program at the Athens Olympic Broadcasting (2004). She continued her studies in a postgraduate level in The Psychology of Mass Communication at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences (Athens), graduating with Honors (2008).

 

Victoria Mali enriched her academic experience attending advanced training courses in the fields of Psycholinguistics and Greek & German Philology at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich (LMU).

Afterwards, she carried on attending state-approved Workshops of Management.  

Since autumn 2017, she is attending Courses on American History & Cultural Anthropology (Ethnology) at LMU, in order to pursue her postgraduate dissertation in the field of International Migration Anthropology. Precisely, she aims to submit a PhD thesis under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Hochgeschwender and her civil name Johanna Panagiotou.  

 

Parallel, she is attending Training Courses in order to become a certified Intercultural Health Advisor for international patients.

 

​​​Professional Experience & Entrepreneurship

Experience that Victoria Mali gathered at TV Stations, Publishing Houses, International and Multicultural Companies in both Countries, has been determinative for the establishment of JOPA Communications, Publications & Arts that she successfully manages from 2010 until today.

 

The Department of Communications offers Communication Services for citizens around the world, mainly cancer patients. The Arts bureau organizes literary readings, while creating its own short Films and Documentaries. Department of Publications is principally in charge of the Transcultural & Critical Magazine Ethno News.

 

 

Internationality 

Victoria Mali developed resilient awareness on International Issues, pursuing her MA Dissertation, under the title ‘Presentation of Child’s portrait on a War situation by Media’, during Iraq conflict in 2003.

 

Her awareness was also strengthened, working at the International Press Office of the Olympic Games 2004, and as a Lector for International News at a Public Institute of Vocational Training in Athens.

 

Her affection, towards intercontinental themes has been propagated in Munich, while began participating in Antiwar, Antiracist & Antifascist actions in 2010 onwards. Furthermore, she supported the candidates of the International List during their election for the Foreigners' Advisory Council in 2017.

 

Victoria speaks fluently German, Greek, English, Italian; sufficiently French and Polish. 

 

Homebased & Investigative

She became renowned as Magazines' publisher (2010-2018), supporting themes related to Ηuman Rights and used to criticize the austerity policy throughout the Financial Crisis in Europe.  

 

Victoria Mali alias Johanna Panagiotou is passionate researching, pursuing qualitative and professional journalism and tends to create things with her own mind and hands. Therefore, most of the Concept on Ethno News is formed, written and designed by ©Victoria Mali / Jopa.    

 

She does not believe that a journalist must always have an opinion on everything and dislikes News, which are consumed in terms of “fast food”.

 

‘Everyone is an Artist’

Victoria Mali is writing and translating poems, while participating in Scene readings, photographic material, also presenting the program "Munich reads a Book" (Literature meets Politics) in the Independent Citizens' Radio LORA 92, 4.

Her first short film “If all Kids”, supported by the well-known artist Konstantin Wecker, was released in 2017 in the presence of the holocaust survivor Ernst Grube.
